Heidelberg United and Oakleigh Cannons shared both the goals and the points – “South Melbourne escaped From Morelands home with A Win.” – Port Melbourne shocked the Knights.
Heidelberg United – Oakleigh Cannons
The first Greek derby of the new season did not have a winner.
The two opponents played beautiful football, giving the fans an evening full of excitement and a football spectacle at Heidelberg West.
The visitors started strong and scored the first goal in the 15th minute with Hampson. If they had been more careful in the final third of the field, they could have secured the win in the first half. As time went on, Alexandros stepped up and managed to level the game at the start of the second half. Joshua Pin, the scorer, received the ball just outside the box and with a powerful shot managed to beat the visitors’ keeper, bringing the yellow and black stands to their feet.
It was a very beautiful football “battle” , certainly worthy of the history of the two clubs.

Moreland and South Melbourne offered us a nerve-wracking match, with the Greek team tirelessly pushing for a goal from the beginning till the end.

However, South Melbourne’s efforts paid off as they achieved their second consecutive victory, placing them at the top of the table.
