Within its first two days of operation, the new platform for postal voting has seen more than 8000 Greek citizens living abroad register, while domestic voters have also shown interest.

For those looking to vote in the European Parliament elections on June 9, they must do so by April 29, 40 days in advance.

Voting materials to individuals who wish to cast their ballots remotely, will be provided by the Interior Ministry and each voter or legal representative will personally receive them in May.

Greek embassies across European Union member-states are now launching relevant information campaigns with Interior Minister Niki Kerameus attending events in Luxembourg, Amsterdam and Brussels in the coming days.

Greek nationals in other countries, like France for example, are eligible to vote in the European elections for French MEPs as well, therefore they can choose between both countries.

Earlier this month, while speaking at a Hellenic American Chamber (HAC) event, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said New Democracy will have a candidate in Australia in the upcoming European elections.

He said that is their obligation in the European election ballots to ensure there is representatives from the expatriate community, including Australia.
