Melissa Pateras, founder of Meleros Cosmetics, recently held a cancer fundraiser luncheon event, in support of the Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) program, raising $10,500.
LGFB is a free national community service that helps improve well-being and confidence for people undergoing cancer treatment.
The charity event at Vatutto restaurant in Ivanhoe, Melbourne saw $3 from every lipstick sold go toward the fundraiser.
Among the guests was former Minister for Health of Victoria Jenny Mikakos, who shared insight into her initiative with CAR T-cell therapy, shedding light on its efficacy and impact.
As a volunteer with LGFB for the last 17 years, Melissa is committed to empowering cancer patients by enhancing their confidence and spreading joy.
This is fuelled by the loss of significant family members who have passed away from cancer in her family.
In a statement sent to Neos Kosmos, Melissa says her selflessness comes from a “deep understanding of the transformative impact cosmetics and self-care can have on cancer patients, inspiring her to devote her time and resources to brightening their journey and restoring their sense of self-esteem.”
Melissa also said that the willingness to support such a worthy cause speaks volumes about the compassion and commitment of people to make a difference in the lives of others.
“It is truly inspiring to see our community come together for such a meaningful purpose.”
