Archbishop Makarios awarded the numerous young students from Sydney’s three Greek Orthodox Colleges who achieved fantastic results in the HSC exams last year in a ceremony held at the Great Hall of St Andrew’s Theological College.
The Excellence Award Ceremony, which is organised annually by the Educational Council of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, took place on Thursday February 22 with Archbishop Makarios congratulating the students on their achievements.
Following that, His Eminence bestowed his paternal blessing upon the recently graduated High Schoolers as they enter the next phase of their lives, while urging them to hold onto the spiritual and moral principles they received during their secondary education.
Archbishop Makarios concluded by assuring the youngsters that the Holy Archdiocese of Australia would always have open arms for them and support their God-loving works.
Among the distinguished guests at the ceremony were Bishops Elpidios of Kyaneon and Bartholomew of Charioupolis, the Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese, Archimandrite Christoforos Krikelis, and the dedicated clergy serving the parishes associated with the three Greek Orthodox Colleges (All Saints, Saint Spyridon, and Saint Euphemia),
Alongside them were also the Principals of the three schools, teachers and professors, and the parents and guardians of the students recognised with awards.
