As part of their Australian tour, members of the Greek parliamentary delegation visited Melbourne’s Australian Hellenic Memorial this week.

Soon after the morning visit and wreath laying ceremony, they were treated to a personalised tour of the Shrine of Remembrance.

President of the Australian Hellenic Memorial Steve Kyritsis OAM who hosted the tour, briefed the delegation on the history behind the memorial and the symbolism of its different parts.

Honouring the visitors from Greece, the Greek Consul General Emmanuel Kakavelakis prepared a warm welcome, alongside Kyritsis and chair of the Victorian Council for Greek National Day, Tony Tsourdalakis, among others.

Greece’s ambassador to Australia Stavros Venizelos has joined the Greek delegation for their Australian tour. Delegation members include:
