La Trobe University has recently entered into a significant partnership with the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), marking a new chapter in international collaboration.
Dr. Raul Sanchez-Urribarri, La Trobe’s Associate Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences (International), highlighted the importance of this collaboration, stating, “NKUA is Greece’s oldest and largest university, renowned for its academic excellence”.
“This partnership opens up exciting opportunities for our students, including networking, university exchange programs, and access to new courses,” she added.
One of the key benefits of this partnership is the opportunity for La Trobe students to participate in NKUA’s annual intensive language courses, as well as the chance to interact with NKUA students during study tours.
Additionally, NKUA recently introduced a Bachelor of Arts program taught in English, focusing on Archaeology, History, and Literature of Ancient Greece, which is expected to attract La Trobe students interested in studying in Greece.
“This degree will appeal to a wide range of La Trobe students who wish to immerse themselves in Greek culture and history,” Dr. Stavroula Nikoloudis, La Trobe’s Greek Studies Coordinator said, emphasising the appeal of the new program.
Details of the partnership will be finalised over the coming months, with both universities looking forward to a fruitful collaboration that will benefit students and academics alike.
