While South Melbourne FC sit atop the table in the NPL, another one of the club’s teams won their third consecutive championship earlier this week.
South Melbourne’s Power-chair Team won the VPL Championship in a hard-fought match against Westvale Olympic FC.
Both teams brought their best to the court, with Hellas claiming a 3-2 victory in penalties.
Club Chairman and President of the Greek Community of Melbourne Bill Papastergiadis took to social media to congratulate the team and also shine light on the Blind Team and an important individual.
“South Melbourne Hellas may be sitting on top of the league table but it’s true unsung heroes are our Power-chair Team and the Blind Team,” he said on Facebook.
“Well done to both teams.
“Special mention to Skip Fulton who works tirelessly in the background to assist our Power-chair and Blind teams. They are a pivotal part of our South Melbourne Hellas Club.”
