State League 1 – North West Group

It seems the Greek Australian teams didn’t put the ‘state’ in State League 1’s Northwest Group, as their weekend wasn’t exactly a triumph.

Yarraville got a taste of some rough play last weekend. The courageous Doxa squad journeyed to Whittlesea to face off against the tough locals, United. Unfortunately, they suffered a 4-1 loss and had to slink off the field in defeat. This week, they’ll be taking on Strathmore, who are basically in last place. Looks like Doxa might actually have a chance to shine this time.

The Western Suburbs suffered a bruising 2-3 loss on their own turf to Geelong. The match was hyped to be a showdown, but alas, the visitors stole the win with their deadly precision in the final third. Next up, Western Suburbs will have to take on Westgate, in enemy territory.

There was a fierce showdown on Saturday between Clifton Hill and Brimbank Stallions. Despite their best attempts, the rivals were only able to come away with one measly point. Talk about a tie-d game. The Greek Australian tem is in for another test as they hit the road to take on the top dogs, Whittlesea United, this weekend.

State League 1 – Southeast Group

The Springvale derby ended in a draw, leaving both the White Eagles and Aris without a crown. Despite being down a player and on the losing side of the score, the “yellow and black” put up a fierce fight. But in the end, they swooped in with a last-minute goal to snatch a point from their opponents. Now, South Springvale has their eyes on the prize as they face Brandon Park this weekend and attempt to climb again to the top of the table.

Looks like Malvern City has returned to their winning streak! The “blue and white” crushed Mazenod with a flawless 2-0 score. Next up, the unstoppable Greek-Australian squad takes on the Casey Comets on their own turf.

State League 2 – North West Group

Westvale Olympic is making their way up the standings faster than an Australian kangaroo on caffeine! They snatched second place and crushed Lalor United with a 2-1 victory. But their eyes are now set on the civil derby against Mill Park. Will Mill Park be able to keep up after their 1-0 win against Hume United at home?

Altona East brought their A-game and left their opponents in the dust this weekend. With a 3-0 victory on enemy territory against Uni Hill, the Black and Whites proved they know how to ruffle some feathers. And next week, they’ll continue to assert their dominance as they welcome Craigieburn City to their turf.

State League 2 – Southeast Group

The Bayside Argonauts tried to snag a victory to maintain their spot in second place, but ended up with just one point and a tie against their rivals, Mooroolbark. Talk about a nail-biter! Next up, they’ll face off against their fierce foes, Chisholm United, in an away match. Bring on the drama!

Chisholm is pumped up for this week’s face-off against the Argonauts, after crushing Greater Dandenong 5-3 in their last match – talk about a hometown hero moment! Local football never looked so good.

After a rocky road, Bentleigh United has finally slithered its way back to victory. The “Cobras” landed a knockout punch with a 2-4 win against North Caulfield at home. Can they strike again this weekend against the Peninsula Strikers? Only time will tell.

State League 4 – Eastern Group

Last weekend, Waverley Wanderers unleashed their madness and demolished Boronia with a whooping score of 0-9. This time, they plan to entertain their audience by hosting Ringwood City and dominating the field yet again, climbing the ranks like a boss.

State League 4 – Northern Group

Darebin United took a mighty blow on their own turf, succumbing to Melbourne University in a 2-3 defeat. Can they turn the tables as they face Greenvale United this week, on their enemy’s stomping grounds?

West Preston got schooled by Docklands with a final score of 3-1. Looks like the “Greens” need to hit the books before taking on Melbourne University this weekend.

State League 5 – Eastern Group

East Kew continues their dominance with another away victory! They knocked down Old Ivanhoe 1-2, sharing the throne with Mount Waverley atop the standings. Brace yourselves for a fiery and exciting showdown this Saturday as these two powerhouses collide at Tally Ho Reserve in Mount Waverley. Don’t miss it at 3pm!

State League 5 – Northern Group

Keon Park is on the rise, making their way up the standings like a skilled climber. After handily winning against Melbourne Uni 1-0 last weekend, they are now gearing up for a challenging away match against the Moreland Eagles.
