State League 1 – North West Group

The Western Suburbs are feeling both happy and sad after their recent weekend, sort of like when you accidentally mix up happy hour with a funeral. Their match against Westgate was a true test of strength and endurance, ending in a not-so-impressive score of 0-0. But hey, the Greek Australian team could have still totally won if they had just a sprinkle of good luck in their last third. Next up, they’ll try their luck against the underdogs of Strathmore. Let’s hope they don’t forget to bring their game faces and a healthy dose of luck this time.

Clifton Hill proved to be a formidable force at Whittlesea United’s fortress. Despite facing a top-notch United team, the Blues managed to hold their ground and snagged a well-deserved 1-point draw. The whistle blew, the score was tied at 2-2, and fans were left on the edge of their seats. Now, Clifton Hill will venture to Dallas, just north of Broadmeadows, to take on their next challenger, Upfield.

After a long and grueling battle, Historic Yarraville has finally claimed the sweet taste of victory. With a 1-0 score against Strathmore, even Zeus would be proud. This win has catapulted them to tenth place in the standings. Next up, they will bring their Greek Australian spirit to Geelong as they take on the local team.

State League 1 – Southeast Group

Last weekend, Malvern City had the Casey Comets shaking in their boots as they faced off on the field. Despite the visitors’ valiant effort, it was a 5-0 victory for Malvern, leaving the away team feeling like mere mortals. It was a crucial win that put Malvern in fifth place, but the real test will be next Saturday when they take on Gippsland United.

South Springvale got caught with their feet in the mud against Brandon Park. Despite Aris’ domination and early lead, they had to settle for a tie thanks to a sketchy penalty awarded to the opposing team in the final seconds. Now, the unstoppable God of War heads to picturesque Eltham to challenge the reigning leaders, the Redbacks. Game on.

State League 2 – North West Group

In a clash of titans, Mill Park dominated Westvale Olympic with a 4-0 victory. The visitors were left speechless as the home team basked in their superior skills. Upcoming matches include Mill Park showing Hoppers Crossing who’s boss, while Olympic struggles to defend their turf against the fierce Uni Hill Eagles.

Altona East experienced a painful defeat at their home game against Craigieburn with a score of 0-2. PAOK, currently in eighth place in the table, will play at home this week against Whittlesea Rangers.

State League 2 – Southeast Group

The Greek derby between Chisholm United and Bayside Argonauts ended with a tie. It seems neither team wanted to take home the ‘W’ for winner, they were content settling for the letter ‘D’ for draw. But fear not, as both teams continue their pursuits, with the Argonauts facing off against Greater Dandenong and United getting ready for some local fang-dangling with Bentleigh United Cobras.

The “Cobras” slithered their way to a decent result against the Strikers last weekend, snagging a point in their away game at Centenary Park. The whistle blew and the scoreboard yawned with a meager 0 – 0 score.

State League 4 – Eastern Group

Waverley Wanderers’ improvement over time has been smoother than silk. AEK easily outclassed Ringwood City with a 3-1 victory, granting them the fourth spot in the rankings. This weekend’s match against Monash City Villarreal promises to be a nail-biting encounter.

State League 4 – Northern Group

Darebin United dominated their last game like a boss. Apollon took no prisoners and snatched a 0-2 victory against Greenvale on their turf, leaving them shaken and stirred. As for next week’s match against Fawkner, let’s just say they better bring their A game or face the consequences.

Last week, West Preston stole the show with a 4-1 victory over Melbourne University. Now, the Greek Australian squad is ready to serve up another win against Moonee Valley Knights in their own backyard.

State League 5 – Eastern Group

The showdown between Mount Waverley and East Kew was quite a spectacle. It ended in a stalemate, with both teams earning a measly point from the final score of 1-1. Olympiacos nearly claimed victory at Mount Waverley, until a last-minute goal was dubiously deemed offside by a volunteer linesman. The referee’s call caused quite a stir among the fierce rivals, creating a commotion on and off the field. As for this week’s game, East Kew will be strutting their stuff at Glen Waverley.

State League 5 – Northern Group

Keon Park soared to victory against the Moreland Eagles with a 2-1 score. They’ve soared up to third place in the standings, just three points shy of the top. Next up, Tullamarine will play host to the unstoppable AEK.
