Greeks always seem to be on the move, with three out of four Greek Australian teams in the NPL having away games this week. Our beloved clubs are still dominating the championship race and spreading happiness to Greek sports fans all over Victoria.
Hume City – South Melbourne
South Melbourne better bring their A game for their match against one formidable opponent this week.
Coach Esteban Quintas and his team have been killing it, unfazed by the competition from Avondale and Cannons.
Their secret weapons, Sawyer and Bonada, have racked up a whopping twenty-three goals out of thirty-five for the Greek Australian squad.
But let’s not forget about the host team’s star player, Aamir Abdallah, with his eight goals keeping Hume City fired up.
It’ll be a battle of the best, but South Melbourne will need more than just good luck to contain this beast of a player.
Altona Magic – Oakleigh Cannons
The Oakleigh side is travelling to Altona this week.
The Cannons are like a GPS with the destination of the championship already programmed in.
They’re cruising through stadiums, scoring goals and collecting points, leaving their competitors in the dust.
Last weeks victory against Heidelberg United sent a strong message to the rest of the league – the Cannons are on a mission and nothing can stop them!
The pressure is mounting for South Melbourne and Avondale as the Cannons hot on their heels.
It’s a tough competition, with some teams truly capable of success while others are just in it for the fame.
Which side will your team end up on?”
Heidelberg United – Dandenong Thunder
Heidelberg United is ready to bounce back from their recent slump against the Cannons this weekend.
While their last game was a disappointment, let’s not forget their stellar performance throughout the season.
The “yellow and black” are dazzling on the field and have mastered the art of scoring wins.
They’re a top contender for the championship, and nothing will stop them. Except maybe the Dandenong Thunder, a team known for their chaotic gameplay.
Coach John Anastasiadis is solely dedicated to securing a victory. And with that, they’ll stay on track for the ultimate prize.
Go get ’em Alexandros!
Moreland City – Port Melbourne
This week, Port Melbourne is set for some easy pickings against Moreland, giving them the perfect opportunity to climb the ladder.
With their strong performance this season, it’s no wonder they’ve got a comfortable eight-point lead over Dandenong City.
But coach Nick Marinos is not satisfied with settling for a top-six finish – he’s got big dreams for his team, even if that means surpassing Hume City and Heidelberg United who are just three points away.
Marinos never fails to motivate his players to give 100% in every game and practice. The question remains: will their hard work pay off in the end?
Only time will tell.

Box Hill United is in for a challenging time this week as they venture to Pascoe Vale to take on the hometown heroes. Can they recreate the magic from their last win against Beaumaris? Only time will tell. But one thing’s for sure, Pascoe Vale has got their game face on and Box Hill better bring their A-game if they don’t want to go home with nothing but regrets.
