Held at the N P Nikolakakis Centre for Academic Excellence, the event honoured the achievements of its first inductees, Dr. Pia Varsamis and Dr. Maria Tsanglis.
Principal Mark Robertson warmly welcomed attendees, highlighting Oakleigh Grammar’s commitment to nurturing exceptional individuals.
Robertson then introduced Vic Rajah, Convenor of the Oakleigh Grammar Business Network, who shared the initial vision that led to the creation of the Alumni Hall of Fame.
Rajah highlighted the initiative’s value in “fostering a strong sense of community and inspiring future generations”.
Senior School Captains Sotiris Bakalis and Jessica Peraic introduced the inaugural inductees.

Dr. Pia Varsamis, Class of 2011, was recognised for her significant medical contributions. Currently working at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, Dr. Varsamis has dedicated her career to advancing medical research and improving lives.
Joining her was Dr. Maria Tsanglis, Class of 1991. Her impact on psychiatry has been profound at Alfred Health, where Dr. Tsanglis has substantially contributed to mental health care.
Both inductees delivered inspiring speeches, sharing their personal journeys and commitment to excellence.
Their words resonated deeply with the audience, creating anticipation for the future achievements of Oakleigh Grammar’s alums.
The Alumni Hall of Fame will induct up to two alums annually, celebrating professional achievements, leadership, innovation, and community involvement.
