Following a successful inaugural event in March this year, the Cyprus Diaspora Forum has announced its follow up for 2025, from May 7-10.
Founded by South African born Cypriot screenwriter, author, playwright and director Paul Lambis, and Australian Filli Kaoullas, who is now vice president, the four-day event that brings together Cypriot diaspora communities.
Prominent figures from public and private sectors, media, academia, and civic society all get together with the goal of recognising and promoting their importance in branding Cyprus internationally.
All that while strengthening relations through entrepreneurship, innovation, philanthropy, cultural and social engagement.
The Cyprus Diaspora Forum includes partnership opportunities, keynote presentations, panel discussion, networking events and the CYDIA AWARDS, recognising Cypriots from around the globe.
It has also piqued the interest of local and international communities interested in networking with Cypriots of the diaspora in their home countries.
From engaging with Cypriots who have relocated back to Cyprus, and hearing about the multiple advantages of Cyprus from foreign nationals who have either invested or established permanent roots on the island.
Australians that were guest speakers at the 2024 event included corporate leader Peter Abraam, Australian Parthenon Committee representative Elly Symons, South Australian member of parliament Andrea Michaels and social and political analyst and director at CONSTANTi Costa Constanti.
Cypriot Australians Andrew Lambrou (last year’s Eurovision representative for Cyprus) and Cyprus’ 2024 Eurovision representative, Silia Kapsis, also performed at a gala dinner/awards night.
