Kassandra Kikkos held a Biggest Morning Tea event last Sunday on behalf of Cancer Council in support of family and others close to her that are currently fighting, overcome or lost their lives to cancer.
The event was held in her home with 35 of her closest friends and family and together with her fundraising page, she has raised almost $3000 to date.
“It’s something that’s really affected, not only my family, but a lot of my friends as well over the last few years,” she told Neos Kosmos.
“I just wanted to hold a fundraiser to raise some money for people that are currently going through cancer and going through treatment and but not only those people but people that we’ve lost as well, people that have come out the other side and are now cancer free.”

This includes both her grandfathers, who are both cancer free, with one overcoming prostate then bowel cancer and the other prostate many years ago.
It is a disease that has affected many people around her.
She also wanted the event to be helpful for the younger generation “to raise awareness around cancer.”
“To have people together and be able to discuss all the things that sort of come along with it, whether it be the emotions that people go through, family coming together to support one another, even just like symptoms that people had and made them think, maybe I should go get some checks done.”
Kassandra has raised around $3000 after originally setting out to raise $1000. You can check out the donation page or donate here.
