Sydney Greek Orthodox priest Father Christos Triantafyllou has retired after nearly 50 years of service to the All Saints Greek Orthodox Parish and Community of Belmore.
Archbishop Makarios of Australia accepted Fr Christos’ retirement from active duty.
Announcing the news on a Facebook post, All Saints Greek Orthodox Parish and Community of Belmore said he has been a pillar of strength for many, conducting countless baptisms, weddings, and funerals.
He heard countless confessions and provided support to many individuals over the years.
He was also heavily involved with significant projects, including the establishment of All Saints Grammar School and the iconography project inside the Church building.
“The entire Parish and Community thanks Father Christos and his wife, Presbytera Sevasti, for all they have given,” the post read.
“We wish them health and every blessing from above in their retirement and look forward to seeing them around the Parish.”
Fr Christos and his wife were also wished well in retirement and thanked by All Saints Grammar and the All Saints Orthodox Youth group.
