The National Youth Championships Boys tournament has kicked off today as the next generation of Australia’s football stars take centre stage.

Earlier this month the U15 and U16 girls from all across the country gathered at the Home of the Matildas in Melbourne.

NSW Metro won both age groups in Bundoora and now it is time for the boys to compete and see who will emerge victorious in Wollongong NSW.

With many young talented players from across all of Australia convening at this one spot, many Greek boys are also featuring.

Greek names set to compete:

Northern Territory: U15s Michael Koukouvas, Haralambos Maillis

Northern NSW: U15s Nikolas Sklavos

NSW Metro Sky: U15s Demetrios Arseniou, U16s Theo Zimonopoulos

NSW Country: U15s Dimitri Pavlou

South Australia: U16s Noah Petropoulos, Socrates Tsangari

Invitational XI (Indigenous Team): U16s Nicholas Sterfanidakis

Victoria Blue: U15s Dean Antonakakis, Andrew Pothitos, U16s Alexander Gouvoussis, Alexander Houridis, James Houridis, Nicholas Vardakas

Victoria White: U15s Ethan Gemetzis, Orlando Chrysis, Dominic Aravanis

Victoria Silver: U15s Alexander Gogos, Yianni Spyropoulos, U16s George Tsianakas

Note that these names were featured on the squad lists ahead of the tournament and changes may have been made to some teams

Last year Victoria swept the competition to win both tournaments, so they’ll be defending their titles.

NSW Metro are hoping to get revenge, losing in both finals, including a penalty shoot-out finish in the Under-16 boys title decider.

Every match from July 16 to 21 will be held at WIN Stadium, JJ Kelly Park and Ian McLennan Park, and will be live streamed on KommunityTV.
