The Greek Orthodox Community of Dandenong celebrated its Saint Panteleimon with great splendour and ceremony starting with last Friday’s Vespers service was led by Bishop Kyriakos, assisted by the clergy.
The main celebration on Saturday saw Bishop Kyriakos presiding over the service, joined by Archimandrite Eirinaeos Koka and priests Antonios Krinas, Georgios Adamakis, Doukas Georgallas, Panagiotis Nikolaos, Panagiotis Zoumboulidis, and Dimitrios Galanis. The church was filled with faithful attendees, and Bishop Kyriakos extended his well wishes for the feast of Saint Panteleimon.
Prominent attendees included Antonis Tsourdalakis, President of the Communities and Parishes of the Holy Archdiocese; Giannis Kostoulias, President of the Federation of Senior Citizens’ Clubs; Giannis Dokos, President of the Dandenong Senior Citizens’ Club; Natasha Spanou; educator Vlasis Mavraganis and his wife Nelli, among many others.
Bishop Kyriakos thanked the community, Father Antonios Krinas, the Board of Directors, the Philoptochos, the Senior Citizens’ Club, and the volunteers for their contributions.
Community President Stefanos Karamochos also expressed his gratitude to everyone who attended and those who offered their services selflessly.
The event featured music by the renowned DJ I Joe and included a reading of the poem “Saint Panteleimon, Protector of the Dandenong Community,” sent by historian and poet Despina Tzanni from Mytilene.
