St Johns College gathered students, educators and distinguished professionals to deliver a conference at their school focused on passing on the principles of leadership to the younger generation.

The Preston-based school organised an inaugural year 10 Youth Leadership Conference, which was supported by the Beniko Family Trust, aimed at equipping students with the foundational knowledge and skills needed to embark on their leadership journeys.

As part of the conference, a series of sessions/presentations were held focusing on the psychological well-being essential for effective leadership.

Blagica Nikolovska spoke on the importance of ‘Mindsets’ in her presentation, and the critical role they play at every stage of the leadership journey.

Dylan Edge stressed the value of mentorship, explaining that guidance and support from experienced leaders is a significant tool in younger people’s development.

Ashlee Walsh then shared her insights on essential leadership attributes, particularly noting the value of self-reflection throughout the leadership journey.

The event also saw attendees network with guests from various professional backgrounds, some notable visitors being Tom Hunt from Heinz Law, Abraham Pitros and Alexandra Eshaq from 88 Real Estate, Con Lazos from Fusion Martial Arts, and Nikolas Lazos, an aspiring international junior MotoGP rider.

The guests all shared insights into their respective industries and personal leadership journeys, enlightening students on a broad range of perspectives to draw inspiration from.

The school emphasised their appreciation to everyone that contributed and participated in the conference, believing it to have been a positive step in their goal of inspiring and empowering the next generation of leaders.
