It’s time for the ultimate showdown between Oakleigh Cannons and South Melbourne Hellas, with the prestigious Dockerty Cup at stake.

135 clubs from Victoria vied for the cup this year on its 100th anniversary, paying tribute to the great Harry Dockerty.

Known as the mastermind of Victorian football, Dockerty’s legacy lives on even after 120 years, as two Greek Australian teams battle it out for the illustrious trophy.

Neos Kosmos spoke to Cannons coach Chris Taylor for his thoughts on the grand final (3/8): “We’re thrilled to make it to the final for the third year in a row. It’s almost become a tradition for us, we’re practically spoiled! But we can’t underestimate South Melbourne, they’re on fire right now. They are the favourite to win it. However, we are also in good shape and are determined to triumph, just like we did when we faced South Melbourne a few weeks ago. This final is a celebration of local football and we’re honoured to be a part of it once again. Our goal is to bring home the victory.”
