The 2024 VPL1 season may have come to an end, but fear not, the four Greek Australian clubs will continue to kick it in the same league next season.

These teams delivered a victorious performance, giving their fans a taste of top-notch football.

Their success not only showcases the power of the game, but also reminds us of the vital role it plays in the Greek community.

From passionate fanatics to seasoned veterans, the pitches are alive with football frenzy every week.

Let’s bask in this love for the sport, reminisce about old times, and hold onto the hope for a brighter future for Australian football, one that rivals the glory days of the last century.

The Greek Australian teams twirled their way to the finish line of the 2024 season, treating their pals to one last lively “dance” before calling it a wrap.

Despite their best efforts, Northcote City’s fairy tale ending was shattered by a 0-0 tie against the Bulleen Lions.

Looks like dreams don’t always come true, especially when Preston Lions and Western United are busy winning their games against Langwarrin and Melbourne Victory. Northcote’s fourth place finish may have been just a few points short, but hey, at least they’ll have a killer strategy for next season.

The Bentleigh Greens took the derby against Brunswick City by storm, ending with a victorious 2-1 score.

Despite Brunswick’s 1-0 lead in the first half, the visiting team turned up the heat in the second half, delivering a swift and effective game that resulted in goals from Nepomuceno and Hirayama.

Kingston City’s season finale couldn’t have been more catastrophic. The esteemed club endured a humiliating 5-0 loss to George Cross, leaving a bitter aftertaste. It was a bizarre year for the red and white squad, playing second fiddle and failing to ignite any passion or optimism for their loyal supporters.

“Box Hill United had their final curtain call in true tragic fashion. The Greek Australian squad took on Beaumaris on Saturday, but their lacklustre performance led to an unfortunate 0-1 loss. Looks like Pythagoras team needs some espresso shots and a good pep talk for their next season.
