The NSW Chapter Anatole under AHEPA Australia are hosting a symposium – philosophical evening this Friday on the topic of the Myth of Er from Plato’s Republic.
Professor George Charalambidis will be speaking on the topic.
The Myth of Er from Plato’s Republic tells the story of a soldier, Er, who is thought to be dead and descends to the underworld.
When he revives he is sent back to tell humanity what awaits them in the afterlife.
The story includes an account of the cosmos and the afterlife that greatly influenced religious, philosophical, and scientific thought for many centuries.
Event takes place on Friday August 30 at 7pm, at the Ramsgate Life Saving Club, 274 The Grand Parade, Ramsgate Beach.
