MANASIS, one of Australia’s premier Greek dance schools, celebrated 45 years of cultural preservation and dance excellence at their Annual Dinner Dance last Saturday at The Grand on Princes.
The event brought together over 500 guests, with students as young as three to grandparents performing traditional dances learned throughout the year.
The highlight of the evening was the Senior Dance Group’s debut of the New Modern Bracket, a 15-minute choreographed routine that showcased dances from regions across Greece, including Macedonia, Cyprus, and Crete.
The performance featured modern costumes and a fusion of traditional Greek rhythms with contemporary elements, including the Australian didgeridoo.
MANASIS also celebrated being officially recognised as a member of UNESCO’s Council of International Dance during a recent tour to Greece, honouring their contribution to Greek culture within the diaspora.
The school now turns its attention to community events, with updates available on their social media platforms.
