The Greek-Australian Cultural League (GACL) is set to launch the 70th edition of its annual bilingual journal Antipodes, with this year’s publication dedicated to Cyprus, the island of Aphrodite, and the enduring spirit and the strength of its people.
The event will take place on Sunday, October 20 at 3pm at the Andrianakos Centre, Alphington Grammar.
The journal will be presented by the High Commissioner of Cyprus to Australia, Antonis Sammoutis, who will highlight the importance of Cyprus’ cultural and historical legacy.
This year’s edition pays tribute to the island’s enduring spirit and the strength of its people.
The launch will feature live performances of traditional and beloved Cypriot songs, an art exhibition by Cypriot artists, and traditional Cypriot dances. Attendees will also enjoy an audiovisual presentation alongside refreshments and traditional delicacies.
