Maria Dalamaras’ efforts with her Digital Marketing business ‘Rio Consulting Group’ has been recognised once more by the St George community with her receiving the Business Achievement Award for the third year in a row.
The NSW-based businesswoman has been celebrated by her local area as a recipient in the 2024 St George Community Awards, stressing that it is proud and humbling to earn the award for the third consecutive time.
“It is a true honour to have my work recognised, especially by the St George community, which has been such an important part of my journey,” Dalamaras told Neos Kosmos.
“Running a business is never easy, and to have the effort, passion, and dedication that goes into Rio Consulting Group acknowledged in this way is incredibly gratifying. It is a reminder that hard work pays off, and it motivates me to keep striving for excellence.”
The Sydneysider stated she was notified of her nomination and selection for the award win via email by the office of the area’s local State Member of Parliament, Mark Coure.
“The nomination process is community-driven, which makes it even more meaningful. Knowing that people in the community saw value in what I do and took the time to nominate me is truly humbling,” she said.

Dalamaras, who has roots from Rhodes and Kavala, expressed her pleasure in earning this accolade as a form of recognising her business’ consistency and commitment in helping clients in areas like web design, digital marketing consulting, and social media management.
“The award represents the trust the community places in my business and the positive impact Rio Consulting Group has on the local area,” she said.
“For me, it is not just about business success—it is about contributing to the community, supporting other businesses, and fostering growth. This award is a testament to that, and it inspires me to continue working with the same drive and dedication.”
Dalamaras highlighted the significance of her “incredible support network” consisting of her family, team and community, all of whom have contributed to her journey with her business.
“As a wife, mother, and businesswoman, balancing priorities can be challenging, but the support I’ve received has been invaluable,” she said.
“My two sons, Gregorio (6) and Paul (3), are a huge part of my inspiration. They remind me every day why I continue to push forward, not only for business success but to set an example for them of hard work, passion, and perseverance.”
She closed by encouraging other mothers and entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams, noting it can be a challenge but “with determination and a strong support system, it is definitely possible”.
Dalamaras will be presented with the award on Friday, 29 November 2024, in an event at Mortdale RSL.
