The Nafpaktian Association of Melbourne held its annual dance, attracting around 100 people of all ages to an event filled with Greek traditions, music and dancing on Sunday, at the association’s hall in Heatherton.
The event took place a few days before the feast day of Nafpaktos’ patron saint, Saint Dimitrios, celebrated on October 26.
The president of the association, Yiannis Zois, told Neos Kosmos that “everyone who attended had a wonderful time,” explaining that the dance was held on a Sunday afternoon this year, instead of the usual Saturday, “to accommodate the older members of the Association.”

Attendees had the opportunity to enjoy traditional music, dancing, and authentic Greek cuisine.
“Even people aged 80 to 85 got up and danced,” Zois noted, showing that enjoyment knows no age.
He also highlighted how “remarkable it is that the younger generation of the Association’s Supervisory Committee works so well alongside the older members.”
