Peter Doukas OAM has secured an additional post after being elected as the new Chair of the Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Council of Australia (FECCA).
Doukas, who is also Chair of the Ethnic Communities’ Council of NSW, was voted as FECCA’s new chair at its recent National Conference held in Brisbane during October.
Doukas is joined by fellow Hellenic background ECCNSW member and Treasurer, Emaneul Valageorgiou, who was elected Treasurer of FECCA.
Mary Karras, CEO of ECCNSW, labelled their elections a “triumph for the Ethnic Communities’ Council of NSW and for the influence of ECC NSW on the national stage”.
“The Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Council of Australia, as the National Federation representing multiculturalism in Australia, will benefit greatly from the insight and experience of Peter Doukas and Emanuel Valageorgiou,” Karras said in an official announcement.

Both Doukas and Valageorgiou will continue their duties in ECCNSW as they take on their new roles in FECCA.
