Greek Community of Melbourne Schools prepares for its first-ever Olympic Games event

The event marks a new tradition for the Greek Community of Melbourne Schools, creating an annual opportunity to celebrate Greek culture and foster a spirit of unity among the school’s campuses

The Greek Community of Melbourne Schools is set to host its inaugural Olympic Games event on Saturday, 23 November, bringing together students, families, and educators at the Box Hill Athletic Club for a day celebrating Greek heritage, sportsmanship, and unity.

This first-of-its-kind event will feature both opening and closing ceremonies alongside a full schedule of athletic competitions. Students from all campuses will participate in a variety of sports, showcasing their talents and honoring the spirit and values of the Olympics.

Maria Bakalidou, Principal of the Greek Community of Melbourne Schools, expressed enthusiasm for the event: “This celebration unites our entire school community for a day dedicated to the Olympic spirit and Greek culture. It’s a unique opportunity for students, parents, and teachers to honor our shared heritage and be inspired by the Olympic values.”
