As we await the highly anticipated kick-off of the 2025 NPL season, it seems that the holidays are over for the management of Heidelberg United.

While the rest of us may be lounging by the pool or trying to perfect our tans, the team’s people are busy strategising and planning for the upcoming season. And can you blame them?

After all, under the guidance of coach John Anastasiadis last year, the team’s performance was nothing short of spectacular.

His expertise and leadership have ignited a fire within the club, and it seems that he is viewed as their ticket to the top.

As the saying goes, “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it” and the management at Heidelberg United seem to be taking that advice to heart.

After a successful season under coach Anastasiadis, where the team performed like a well-oiled machine, the club’s management has wasted no time in securing key players for the upcoming season.

Anthony Theodorakopoulos, Yiannis Apostolopoulos, Asahi Yokokawa, and Anthony Lesiotis, who were instrumental in the team’s success last year, will continue to don the signature yellow and black uniforms. But that’s not all, the team is also preparing to welcome new players.

The club took to social media to announce the signing of Eoghan Stokes and Bul Juach. Stokes, a seasoned midfielder with a number 10 on his back, brings with him a wealth of experience from his time at Leeds United youth teams and successful stints in Ireland, Scotland, and New Zealand.

Juach, on the other hand, is a highly regarded striker who impressed with his 15 goals in 26 appearances for Altona Magic in the previous season.

With these new additions, the team is shaping up to be a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming season.

While the on-field performance of a football team is undoubtedly crucial, it’s the off-field efforts that truly solidify their success.

Heidelberg United recognised that with a recent official dinner for their sponsors.

A team is only as strong as its supporters, and this event was a tribute to the companies and individuals who have continuously backed the club.

The evening was a celebration of the strong partnership between business and sport.

It’s safe to say that Heidelberg United’s secret to success extends beyond their skill on the field, but rather in their ability to cultivate a strong and supportive community off the field as well.

As we all know, large families can be quite a handful and the club knows that.

United is hosting their Mega Lamb event for their large family.

There will be plenty of activities for all ages, as well and food.

The event will be on December 12 at St. Nektarios Church in Fawkner at 6.30pm.

Spots can be reserved by contacting the club at 0408317148.

Unfortunately, as in life, the news coming from Heidelberg United is not all happy.

The club announced the passing of one of its most loyal and significant members, Ignatious “Tiger” Amanatidis.

Amanatidis had been a part of all the teams at the club, starting with the junior teams, and his family has been connected to Heidelberg United since the 1960s.

We extend our sincerest condolences to his loved ones.
