Football Victoria has announced the schedule for the 2025 season, and let me tell you, it’s going to be crazy.
The NPL Men’s and Women’s leagues are set to kick off on February 6th and March 14th, respectively.
And boy, are the Greek-Australian teams in for a tough ride.
The draw has revealed some highly anticipated matchups for the opening games, including the reigning champion Oakleigh Cannons facing off against Avondale, and South Melbourne Hellas taking on the Sharks in Port Melbourne.
And let’s not forget Heidelberg United Alexandros, who will face off against the Melbourne Knights.
But the excitement doesn’t stop there.
The VPL1 and VPL2 Men’s leagues will begin on February 9th and run until August 24th, with the Women’s league kicking off on March 26th and culminating in the Grand Final on September 14th.
But here’s the real kicker – this year, we have a brand new playoff series to look forward to.
That’s right, after the regular season ends, the teams finishing 3rd to 6th in both VPL1 and VPL2 Men’s leagues will battle it out for the coveted third promotion spot.
