Dandenong’s St Panteleimon Greek School celebrated the end of the academic year with a Christmas event attended by over 300 students, parents, and guardians. The ceremony began with a prayer led by Theology teacher Dionysios Krinas, followed by the students singing the national anthems of Australia and Greece.
Opening remarks were delivered by the school’s director, Niki Farfara Paschou, and the president of the community, Stefanos Karamoschos, with additional greetings from Education Coordinator George De George. The program featured carols and Christmas songs performed by students and a special tribute to the ‘Asterakia’ – students graduating from preschool to kindergarten – as well as those finishing sixth grade and Year 12.
Certificates of achievement and progress reports were handed out, and outstanding students were honored with awards.
The Vagia family generously contributed two scholarships for top-performing students, while Personal Improvement Awards recognised those who showed significant progress.
Additionally, students with the highest grades for 2024 received Academic Excellence Awards, rounding out the festive and celebratory event.
