Karpathos has earned a place among the top 10 emerging global destinations for 2025, according to Travel and Tour World. The list highlights destinations from around the globe, including Canada, Brazil, the United States, Tunisia, Finland, Romania, Chile, Australia, and Vietnam.

As travelers seek undiscovered locations, Travel and Tour World‘s analysts note a shift in the tourism landscape:

“The rise of hidden gems will lead to more sustainable travel options, reducing congestion in areas that attract a lot of tourism and focusing on authentic destinations with pristine natural beauty.”

Karpathos, the second-largest island in the Dodecanese, stands out for its unspoiled beaches with crystal-clear waters and its rich cultural heritage. According to the platform, which attracts an audience of five million professionals: “Karpathos offers a refreshing escape with its untouched beaches and traditional tavernas that provide an authentic gastronomic experience. This blend of natural beauty and vibrant local culture makes it an appealing choice for travelers looking to explore beyond conventional tourist spots.”

Meanwhile for 2025, the Municipality of Karpathos aims to showcase the island’s authenticity through the eyes of its visitors. The campaign features videos of international tourists and long-time island admirers sharing their personal experiences in various native languages via YouTube, allowing a global audience to connect with the island.

“The ‘Local Ambassadors of Karpathos’ are visitors who have cherished the island for decades or have chosen to make it their home,” Karpathos’s Deputy Mayor of Tourism, Tasos Milios, said.

“Through these videos, they share stories of heartfelt hospitality, breathtaking beaches, traditional villages, and our rich cultural heritage. Above all, they highlight the people of Karpathos, who make everyone feel at home.”
