The former Prince of Greece, Nikolaos De Grece, is set to marry Chrysi Vardinogianni in a private ceremony next Friday, February 7, just days after reports of their engagement surfaced.

The Greek Orthodox wedding will take place at the Holy Church of Saint Nicholas Ragavas in Athens, with close family and friends in attendance, according to an announcement from the former Greek royal family.

News of Nikolaos’ engagement broke only last weekend, coming just months after he and his former wife, Tatiana Blatnik, announced their divorce following 14 years of marriage.

Nikolaos, who now officially goes by the French title De Grece—meaning “of Greece”—and Chrysi Vardinogianni, a member of the prominent Greek shipping family, have been romantically linked for seven months. Their relationship had been an open secret in Athenian social circles, with sightings at private events and public outings.

Vardinogianni was previously married to Greek singer Nino, with whom she shares two children and had a long relationship with famous Greek actor Konstantinos Markoulakis.

Nikolaos’ brother, Pavlos De Gres, commented on the upcoming wedding in an interview with journalist Anastasia Zarka for ANT1’s ‘To Proino’.

“I always visit Greece. The wedding just happens to be taking place now. I have my suits ready. Don’t ask me questions about the wedding—ask my brother instead!” he joked.

He dismissed any concerns about “pre-wedding jitters”, saying, “I don’t think Nikolaos is nervous. He’s very happy, and that’s what matters.” When asked if he would serve as the best man, he replied, “I’m his brother, but he hasn’t said anything yet. Thank you very much.”
