Stefanos Tsitsipas has advanced to the quarter-finals at the Dubai Tennis Championships after defeating Karen Khachanov 7-6(4), 2-6, 6-4.
This was the 350th tour-level win for the Greek, who is competing at the event for the first time in five years.
The fourth seed won 80 per cent (49/61) of his first-serve points and was the more aggressive in the third set to clinch victory after two hours and 29 minutes.
Tsitsipas has a good history in Dubai, having reached finals in 2019 and 2020.
The 26-year-old had to dig deep against Khachanov to improve his record against him to 9-1.
Tsitsipas is chasing his first title since his triumph in Monte-Carlo last April and first on hard courts since Los Cabos in 2023.
He captured his first tour-level win at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Shanghai in 2017. His opponent that day was Khachanov.
And since then he has lifted 11 tour-level trophies, including winning the ATP Finals in 2019.
He is the 13th active player to earn 350 tour-level wins.
