Halloumi Festival, hosted by the Cyprus Community of Melbourne, was filled with surprises over the weekend, but one young musician stole the show—eight-year-old Vasili Kaimakamis.
A student at Oakleigh Grammar, ‘Vasilakis’ wowed festivalgoers with his bouzouki skills as he performed alongside his classmates.
Under the guidance of his teacher, Natasa Spanou, the young virtuoso played a series of zeibekiko melodies with remarkable skill, earning cheers and applause from the crowd.
The two-day festival drew a large audience, offering an abundance of halloumi, delicious Cypriot delicacies, and a vibrant entertainment program.
