The use of AI in literary and artistic fields is set to fall under the microscope in the upcoming 6th Junior Summer School in Greece, with the four-day conference organised to evaluate the technology that has sparked much debate in recent years.
The topic headlines the majority of the program slated for the conference, which will be held in Argyrokastro from 25-28 August.
Organised by the Online Alumni Association of the International Summer School “Greek Language, Culture and Mass Media” in collaboration with the University of Eqrem Cabej and the Department of Greek Language, Literature and Greek Culture, it will be held under the auspices of the International Summer School “Greek Language, Culture and Mass Media” and the “Social Issues, Mass Media and Education Laboratory of the Department of Preschool Education of Ioannina University and supported by Study in Greece.
The conference is called ‘GlossAI and Artificial Intelligence’ and will centre on the following topics:
Ethics and Deontology in the use of AI, Language Systems: Use and Exploitation, Digital Literacy, Digital and Smart Technologies: Applications, Dynamics and Tools, Artificial Intelligence and Arts: Divergences and Convergences, AI and Journalism, and Communication and Communicative Approach in an Era of Technological advancement.
Attendance to the four-day conference is free with the full program to be uploaded onto the International Summer University’s website, as well as the official page and Facebook of the International Summer School Alumni Association.
Among the participants will be noted academics, journalists, politicians and artists, all of whom will contribute to the conference.
The program has been planned and organised by the committee of the Alumni Association of the International University, under the scientific supervision of Nikoletta Tsitsanoudi – Mallidi, Founder and Scientific Director of the International Summer School Program, Professor of Linguistics and Greek Language at the Department of Preschool Education, Dean of the Faculty of Education Sciences at the University of Ioannina.
The Junior Summer School is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students, PhD candidates, educators, along with a percentage of professionals with relevant interests within the framework of lifelong learning.
All participants will be awarded a certificate of attendance and provided with educational material, with various parallel cultural activities to also be included.
The conference will also feature speakers, inviting interested parties to submit their presentation proposal in Greek or English [containing a title and abstract up to 200 words], along with their professional affiliation, by 4 May.
All participants are invited to submit a participation request to the organising commitee with registrations also closing on 4 May.
