The 11th International Summer University “Greek Language, Culture, and Mass Media” is set for a jam-packed week of activities to be held in Boston this coming May, discussing deeply the subject of diaspora mass media.

The project (which is free for all) will take place in Boston during 24-29 May at the Maliotis Cultural Center in Brookline and will be conducted through the University of Ioannina Lifelong Learning Center.

The organisers for the event have unveiled the full program across the week, which will feature a myriad of panels, speeches, and an assortment of other activities that explores the central topic ‘Diaspora mass media: challenges and prospects for the Greek language and culture’.

The central theme (also the official title for the 11th International Summer University) encompasses the main discussion points that will be elaborated on via the numerous directors and journalists of diaspora mass media around the world.

Various academics and researchers, intellectuals and artists from Greek and foreign universities and research centres also feature in the program.

The project is supported by various organisations, universities, media sponsors etc. and will be held under the auspices and with the support of the Hellenic Parliament via the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It is worth noting that the event has been included in the strategic plan of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Hellenism Abroad (2024-2027).

The official presentation of the program in Athens will take place on Tuesday 29 April, 7 pm local time at the Benaki Museum.
