The Castellorizian Association of South Australia is preparing to host its first Business Lunch of 2025 with author and historian John Lysikatos to serve as the guest speaker.

The event will take place on Thursday 27 March at 12pm and will be held at the Association’s Hall (6 Danby Street Torrensville).

Lysikatos is all set to headline the first such lunch of the year, sharing stories to the attendees especially in reference to his work.

The author and historian has most recently published a book on famous South Australian sportsman Victor Richardson, a former captain of Australia’s Test cricket team who also played Aussie Rules football, baseball, golf, tennis, lacrosse, basketball and swimming.

Stephen Finos, the organisation’s Secretary, expressed their deep enthusiasm in having Lysikatos at the lunch.

“We like to support people of Greek heritage. We want to show support to John and what he is doing. He is very passionate about his work and has many interesting stories to tell,” he told Neos Kosmos.

Finos remarked that the lunches, which commenced a few years ago, serve as a means of fostering camaraderie among its members while also gaining insights from its various speakers, whether they are community figures, sporting personalities, business leaders etc.

“It is a great way of just having that camaraderie among the attendees. It is a great opportunity to gather and hear interesting stories.”

The association’s Secretary highlighted their enthusiasm for other lunches that will take place later in the year, particularly noting that its Women’s Auxiliary will organise similar events to further develop on the emerging aspect of the community group’s activities.
