Love for travel, particularly Greece, started young for Mia and Sam Haravitsidis, when they were just two and five years old for their auntie’s wedding in Skiathos.
Fast forward to now, the two third generation Greek Australian sisters co-host Travel Trendy, a weekly podcast and newsletter all about travel—mainly focusing on Euro summer, with a heavy emphasis on Greece.
It’s their mission to share travel trips, crazy stories and all the reasons why Greece is the “ultimate destination”.
One of these ‘crazy stories’ includes rubbing shoulders with a Grammy nominated US rapper in Nammos, Mykonos.
“We were just enjoying a casual lunch when, out of nowhere, we found ourselves rubbing shoulders with none other than, famous rapper Travis Scott,” Mia told Neos Kosmos.
“It was completely unexpected, and we still love to brag about it—it’s not every day you get to dine and have a boogie alongside a superstar.”

Happy accidents seem to be a common occurrence for the sister duo as they also happened to one time accidentally get an entire catamaran tour of Ithaca to themselves.
“We had booked a group tour, expecting to share the yacht with ten other travellers, but somehow, no one else turned up,” Sam said.
“Cruising around the stunning turquoise waters, stopping at hidden coves, and soaking in the island’s beauty with no one else around made it feel like our own private luxurious adventure.
“It was completely unexpected but turned into one of the most special and unforgettable moments of our trip.”
These kinds of stories are just some of the things you’d hear on their podcast. They share travel wins and mishaps and also interview guests on their unique travel experiences.

Their newsletter features bucket list pick of the week, top three news stories in the travel world and discount codes and perks for their subscribers.
Mia said that over the years they have travelled extensively, experiencing both European summers and winters, and have become the go-to people for travel recommendations and planning advice among friends and family.
“So, we thought—why not create a platform where we can share our travel tips, experiences, and stories with the world?”
“We noticed that while there are countless podcasts on topics like love, dating, careers, and finance, no one was really talking about travel—despite it being one of the most popular conversation topics among friends.”

A biased love of Greece
Mia and Sam’s Greek heritage has always been a part of their identity and something they deeply cherish.
Like many others, their grandparents migrated to Australia in the 1950s in search of new opportunities.
Mia and Sam’s dad’s side of the family comes from Florina, while their mum’s side is from Agios Andreas in Kalamata.
“Without sounding cliché, Greece truly feels like home to us. We understand the language, the culture, and the way of life, which makes every visit feel familiar and comforting,” Mia said.
The relaxed nature of the people, the crystal-clear blue waters and the vibrant nightlife is what stands out to Mia.
“Greeks have mastered the art of “working to live” rather than “living to work,” and their love for life is infectious.”

She finds this a “refreshing change” to Melbourne.
For Sam, Greece holds a special place in her heart.
“I feel so comfortable when I am there. When travelling around I can often feel unsettled and uneasy. But as soon as I land in Greece I feel so calm, relaxed and completely at ease” she said.
She pointed to people being welcoming and the relaxed way of life, while her favourite thing about Greece is the beaches.
“There’s nothing better than spending the day by the pristine waters and topping it off with a signature club sandwich or pita gyros by the beach.”
