PAOK has become the first Greek team to reach the FIBA Europe Cup Finals after a narrow win over France’s Cholet Basket.
The Thessaloniki double-headed eagle needed overtime to see off the former runners-up Cholet Basket as their dramatic two-point road success secured an overall 178-177 triumph.
They’re now set to face off with Spanish team Bilbao Basket, who are also playing in their first final and first for Spain.
Bilbao pulled off a big comeback from losing the first leg by 19 points as they defeated JDA Bourgogne Dijon behind a dominant 41-point fourth quarter effort to seal a 155-145 aggregate victory.
The two teams will meet in a two-legged final this month. The first leg will be played in Bilbao, Spain, on April 16, before the return leg takes place in Thessaloniki, Greece, a week later on April 23.
