A Greek Australian psychologist by training has been recognised for her venture into AI tech, swooping three awards at the Women Changing the World Global Awards 2025 held last week in London.
Marika Conomos was awarded in three categories: Health Tech Innovation, Health & Wellbeing, and Rising Star, for her work in developing an artificial intelligence hybrid platform enhancing mental health care delivery.

“To be recognised on a global stage for work that began in local clinics across Australia is deeply humbling,” Conomos said in a media statement.
“These awards aren’t just for me – they reflect the urgent need for change in mental health, and the belief that technology can be part of a more ethical, human future.”
Conomos’ UpLift AI reportedly marks Australia’s first AI Co-Therapist model, supporting clinics, extending patient care between sessions, and easing administrative load for practitioners.
Ethical considerations have been central to the development of the platform, Conomos said, ensuring privacy safeguards, transparent data usage policies and inclusivity, through multilingual support and culturally adaptive tools.

Currently completing its trial stage and preparing for launch, UpLift AI promises automation in a range of admin tasks for clinicians, including billing and scheduling, promising to reduce workload by as much as 40 per cent and freeing up time to focus on patient care.
Conomos said she envisions a next phase of growth and partnerships for her technology platform, venturing into other allied health fields, including speech and occupational therapy.
