Stella Greig has unearthed her solo exhibition ‘I Am Only An Ocean Away’, taking viewers on a journey across oceans that serves as a symbol that both separates and connects humanity.
The Greek Australian artist will have her exhibition on display at Studio59 Artspace from 2-19 May, allowing audiences to experience the work for themselves.
The collection sees Greig transform geographical distance into emotional landscapes, exploring the complex territories of longing, memory, and resilience.

Building off a base of drawings, she brought life to the works with both oil and acrylic paints to create paintings that emerge from a physical dialogue between artist and medium.
It is a deeply personal exhibition with each work acting as a visual translation of the artist’s emotional reality, capturing moments where absence becomes presence and separation transforms into connection.
The central theme refers to the universal experiences of distance and proximity, reminding us that even when divided by vast waters, our emotional ties remain unbroken, suspended in that delicate space where “I am only an ocean away”.
