Members of the Pan-Macedonian Association of Melbourne and Victoria and the Macedonian Elderly Citizens Club of Melbourne and Victoria joined with the Mayor and Councillors of City of Yarra as they celebrated the 2024 recipients of Community Grants.

The grant recipients were honoured with an afternoon tea earlier this month (2 April) at Richmond Town Hall, which celebrated the outcomes of the projects, programs and events delivered to the Yarra community over the 2024 calendar year.

Each year, the City of Yarra distributes more than $2 million in grants to support local not-for-profits, grassroots organisations and community initiatives.

The program ranges across several areas including community development, arts and culture, environment, sport and recreation, youth and families.

A number of organisations had the opportunity to showcase their outcomes as part of the event proceedings, including performances of music and dance, as well as short talks and videos.

Mayor Stephen Jolly acknowledged the incredible work all the grant recipients bring to Yarra.

The participants also had the opportunity to network with other grant recipients, fostering ties between community organisations.

Councillors stated that they wanted to strengthen ties with the community and are looking forward to attending future events held by the Greek organisations.
