Federal MP Steve Georganas has expressed great enthusiasm as he seeks his seventh term in parliament, while urging the country to continue putting their faith in the current government for another three years.

Georganas, who was in office from 2004-2013 and from 2016 to now, is looking to earn his third term as the representative for the seat of Adelaide at the coming election.

The Greek Australian politician issued a statement to Neos Kosmos discussing this weekend’s election, wherein he signalled his desire to continue representing the people of his seat.

“It is an honour to have the opportunity to run in the Federal Seat of Adelaide, an area I know well, an area I have lived in all my life and have had the privilege to have served and represented in the Federal Parliament for many years,” Georganas said.

The Labor MP for Adelaide highlighted the areas in which the current government has aided during the last three years, including energy bill relief, cheaper childcare, a stronger Medicare, and clean energy investments.

“We’ve made significant progress, and we’re committed to continuing this important work,” he said.

He addressed his view that the coalition, if elected, would be a step in the wrong direction.

“Peter Dutton’s record speaks volumes: slashing $50 billion from hospitals, undermining Medicare, and advocating to raise medicine costs. We simply can’t afford to go backwards,” Georganas said.

“It would be an honour to be re-elected to represent the people of Adelaide in Federal Parliament and to continue to advocate for the issues that matter most to our community.”
