The popular demand for the Greek Community of Melbourne’s Creative Drama & Arts group’s show ‘Girls in Crisis’ has pushed them into adding one final performance at Doncaster Playhouse this Sunday.
The play has had a series of sold-out shows, which has led to the addition of one final showcase of it this Sunday afternoon at 2.30pm.
‘Girls in Crisi’ marks the tenth anniversary of the Creative Drama & Arts group, founded by Katerina Poutachidou, with the show serving as a celebration of their milestone.
The popular production explores the complexities of womanhood through a rich tapestry of dramatic excerpts, spanning from classical antiquity to contemporary theatre.

It incorporates scenes from various texts like Aristophanes’ ‘Lysistrata’ and ‘The Ecclesiastes’, Christopher Durang’s ‘Laughing Wild’, Akis Dimos’ ‘Destiny’, Kostas Mouselas’ ‘Ο Μπιντές’, ‘With Power from Kifissia’ by Dimitris Kehaidis and Eleni Khaviara, and Lena Kitsopoulou’s ‘M.A.I.R.O.Y.L.A. – Frankenstein’s Diary’.
The production examines societal expectations, personal freedom, identity, and the pressures placed upon women across different eras and cultures.
Directed by Jeremy Artis, the talented ensemble—Ioanna Gagani, Athina Giannou, Pam Pollali, Maria Bakalidou, Niki Skouri, Efrosini Theodosiou, Eleni Baveli, Stella Katsarou, Kostas Stefanidis, and Syrmo Kapoutsi—delivers a powerful, thought-provoking performance.
The additional performance represents a most impressive milestone with the show that has been overwhelmingly well received and clearly in hot demand.
