Police in Sydney have raided the multimillion-dollar mansion of Dimitri Batisatados as part of a serious drug supply investigation.

According to The Australian, a search warrant was executed at the Rozelle property, arresting and charging Batisatados, 33, with a dozen drug supply and participating in criminal group offences.

The raid unfolded around 6am on Nelson Street, startling residents who reported a heavy police presence, including sniffer dogs and officers from the NSW Police Central Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad. Witnesses said police were also inquiring about a relative of Batisatados, believed to currently be in Bali.

During the operation, police towed two vehicles — including a ute — from the premises. In a statement, NSW Police confirmed that Batisatados was arrested at the scene and transported to Newtown Police Station, where he was formally charged and refused bail.

A former student of Holy Cross College in Ryde, he faced Downing Centre Local Court later that day and was charged with a total of 12 offences, including:

  • Seven counts of supplying a prohibited drug (greater than indictable quantity)
  • One count of supplying a prohibited drug on an ongoing basis
  • One count of supplying a prohibited drug (greater than commercial quantity)
  • One count of participating in a criminal group and contributing to criminal activity
  • Two counts of supplying a prohibited drug (between small and indictable quantity)

Police sources allege that the substance involved in the charges is cocaine. Batisatados was denied bail and remains in custody as investigations continue.
