Olympiacos capped off their 100th anniversary season in style by completing a domestic double, defeating OFI 2–0 in the 81st Greek Cup final held at Athens’ Olympic Stadium (OAKA) on Saturday night. With this win, the club lifted their 29th Cup title and celebrated their 19th league-and-cup double.
For OFI, who are also celebrating their centenary, the night ended in disappointment as they missed out on claiming the Cup for a second time and a chance to qualify for European competition. Nonetheless, their supporters — present in the tens of thousands — offered resounding applause in appreciation of the team’s spirited campaign.

Early goal sets the tone
The final began with an explosive start. Ayoub El Kaabi found the back of the net just nine minutes into the match with a well-placed left-foot strike, following a clever set-piece routine involving Rodinei and a feint by Tiquinho. It marked El Kaabi’s 27th goal of the season and 60th overall for Olympiacos.
The early goal allowed Olympiacos to dictate the pace, though OFI had their moments. A strong header from Vasilis Lampropoulos off a corner by Taxiarchis Fountas narrowly missed, and a long-range effort by Zisis Karachalios was calmly handled by goalkeeper Alexandros Paschalakis just before half-time.

Yaremchuk seals the result
The second half continued with Olympiacos controlling possession. El Kaabi nearly doubled his tally in the opening seconds, only to be denied by OFI keeper Christogeorgos. As OFI pushed for an equaliser, Olympiacos struck again late in stoppage time. El Kaabi capitalised on a midfield error, delivering a precise assist to Roman Yaremchuk, who fired a low, powerful shot to seal the 2–0 result.
Reactions from the touchline
Olympiacos coach José Luis Mendilibar celebrated his third trophy with the club, following last year’s UEFA Conference League win and this season’s Super League title.
“This was exactly what the board wanted in our 100th year — the league and the Cup,” he said post-match. “OFI made it difficult for us. The early goal forced them to come out more, and that played to our advantage.”

OFI manager Milan Rastavac acknowledged Olympiacos’ superiority but remained proud of his team: “Congratulations to Olympiacos — they were the better side. But I’m proud of our journey and of our fans who stood by us all the way.”
EPO president praises final
Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) president Maki Gagatsis praised the atmosphere, highlighting the return of fans to the Cup final. “This was a celebration — it was shameful in the past to play finals behind closed doors. Today felt like a return to normality,” he said.
