The Bridges Loutraki International Film Festival returns for its seventh edition, bringing a rich list of pictures from Greece and around the world to delight the region.
The festival, running from 13-25 June, will showcase over 50 films that amass roughly 45 hours’ worth of screenings across the entire two-week event at the Electra Open-Air Cinema in Loutraki, with free entry for the public.
This year’s edition features 40 artists from 20 countries with numerous premieres of short and feature-length films, animation and documentaries.
In addition to screenings, various open Q&A sessions have also been organised with directors and actors of numerous films to add to the spectacle.
The films have been entered into various categories, like Recent Short and Feature Films, Documentaries, Children’s Films and Animation, Greek and International Cinema, SMARD (Smart Art Advertising): cinematic-quality advertising films, and WIFT CYPRUS Curates: curated film selections by Women in Film and Television – Cyprus.
For the first time at the Bridges Festival in Loutraki, the newly introduced NEREUS Film Awards will be presented alongside the traditional Audience Award.

The NEREUS Awards (named after a sea god in Greek mythology) will take place on 22 June and will be judged and presented by a panel of film professionals and critics.
On the same day, the Film Festival will also include a musical program featuring virtuoso guitarist Kostas Boznos and soprano Melina Paschalidou as well as screen the picture ‘Reinas’, Switzerland’s official Oscar entry.
The event will also hold a three-day tribute of past award-winning BRIDGES Festival films culminating on 25 June.
Parallel to the screenings, there will be participation of active members of WIFT chapters, curated by WIFT CYPRUS, and a collaboration with the CWEP Project (Cyprus Women Environmental Peacemakers), an initiative that highlights the role of women in environmental peacebuilding and social empowerment through artistic actions and intercultural dialogue in Cyprus and the buffer zone.
The Bridges International Film Festival is held annually in three cities with Loutraki being the first before it goes to Corinth (20-25 October) and then Nafplio (3-7 December).
The festival is organised on a volunteer basis by the Cultural Company CINEART, based in Corinthia, under the auspices of the municipalities of Loutraki–Perachora–Agioi Theodoroi, Corinth, and Nafplio.
