Katy Perry made a surprise appearance at Greek owned Chasers Nightclub in Melbourne, during her Australian tour.

The US pop star made her way to the ‘Poof Doof’ LGBT night at the club on Chapel Street, South Yarra for the official afterparty.

On the night she was seen mingling with clubgoers, watching a drag show, taking part in singalongs from behind the bar and even shouting the entire club drinks.

Owner Martha Tsamis described the night as unbelievable.

“It was absolutely amazing,” she told Neos Kosmos.

“It was one of those nights that people will talk about for years.

“I mean Katy walked in to Chasers like a queen who returned to a palace.

“She was all about the people that were there. She was so engaging.”

Tsamis said they did invite her because they were hosting an afterparty for the concert goers, continuing the Katy Perry songs through the night.

But they didn’t know if she would actually show up.

She added that Katy wasn’t there for VIP treatment, she was basically enjoying the night like the rest.

“How many celebrities do what she did? She was entertaining. She was right there with the crowd.”

“She could’ve been upstairs in the mezzanine area where she was supposed to be, but she wanted to be down with the crowd.”

“We’re really proud of what we’ve built. It’s a place where people can come and completely be themselves and stars like Katy Perry feel the love too.”

Over the years Chasers has seen many celebrities come through their doors, from Olivia Newton-John when they first opened, to Boy George, Ne-Yo, Fatman Scoop, Mel C of the Spice Girls, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Snoop Dogg and more.
