Westvale Olympic are now just five points off the top spot in the North-West group after a cracking 3-1 victory over Upfield last weekend. The Greek Australian outfit played some scintillating footy, and they’ll look to keep the momentum going when they travel to Banyule City this Saturday.

State League 1 – North-West

Clifton Hill and Keilor Park played out a cagey 0-0 stalemate. The “Men from the Hill” will now pack their bags for a trip to picturesque Ballarat to face the local City side.

It was a tough day at the office for Panellinios, who copped a 4-0 hiding away at Banyule City. This week, they’ll host Keilor Park, hoping to turn their fortunes around.

Doxa Yarraville’s woes continue, with the historic club from Melbourne’s western suburbs stuck at the foot of the table. They’re scrapping for every point, but the margins are getting tighter. This weekend, they face a tricky away clash against Upfield.

State League 1 – South-East

The Greek Australian sides in the South-East group are absolutely flying, with Malvern City, Bayside Argonauts, and South Springvale’s Aris occupying the top three spots in the ladder.

Malvern City are sitting pretty at the summit after a comfortable 2-0 win over Old Scotch last weekend. This Saturday they face a blockbuster derby against second placed Bayside Argonauts, a match that could shape the promotion race.

The Argonauts, meanwhile, are breathing down Malvern’s neck after a clinical 3-1 away win at Beaumaris. They’ll be fired up for the weekend’s top of the table clash.

South Springvale’s Aris kept their promotion hopes alive with a hard-fought 3-2 victory away at Mornington. The “Yellow and Black” will look to keep the pressure on when they host Brandon Park this Saturday.

State League 2 – North-West

It was a belter of a weekend for the Greek Australian sides in the North-West group. Table-toppers Altona East Phoenix flexed their muscles with a 3-1 away win over Strathmore, while Mill Park ran riot, smashing Craigieburn City 5-1 on their own patch.

This week, Altona East Phoenix will face Dallas City at home, while Mill Park head to Strathmore for another tough away day.

State League 2 – South-East

Chisholm United put in a gutsy shift against one of the division’s heavyweights, Knox City, but had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The Oakleigh-based side will look to go one better when they travel to Skye United this Saturday.

Bentleigh United Cobras had a day to forget, slumping to a 3-1 home defeat against Casey Comets. The “Cobras” will be desperate to bounce back when they host St Kilda this weekend.

State League 3 – South-East

Waverley Wanderers were in top form, putting three past White Star Dandenong without reply. The “Yellow and Black” are sitting comfortably in second place and will fancy their chances when they head to Sandringham this weekend.

State League 4 – East

East Kew and Monash City Villareal played out a dour 0-0 draw last weekend, with neither side able to find the back of the net. The “Red and White” will look to get back to winning ways when they welcome Docklands Athletic this Saturday.

State League 4 – North

Keon Park’s AEK battled hard but had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Melbourne University at Princes Park. The “Dikefalos” remain top of the pile with 31 points and will look to keep their promotion push on track when they host Watsonia Heights.

West Preston had a nightmare at home, crashing to a 3-1 defeat against Fawkner. The “Greens” will need to dust themselves off for a tough away trip to Moonee Valley Knights.

Darebin United’s Apollon enjoyed a successful away day, beating Glenroy Lions 3-1 to climb to eighth in the standings. This week, they’ll welcome Heidelberg Stars to their home ground.
