Fronditha Care CEO Faye Spiteri and volunteer Theodorus Giannicopoulos are among the finalists announced for Ageing Australia’s 2025 You are ACE! Awards, with the duo each being praised for their contribution to the aged care sector.
The awards honour individuals, groups and organisations who exemplify excellence in aged care, retirement living and seniors housing across Australia.
Spiteri has been listed as a finalist in the Leadership category while Giannicopoulos earned a spot in the Volunteer category.
“We are incredibly proud that Fronditha Care has once again been shortlisted for the 2025 Ageing Australia Excellence Awards in two categories,” Spiteri said in a statement to Neos Kosmos.
Furthermore, she expressed particular pleasure that Giannicopoulos, who was named Volunteer of the Year in 2023 by Fronditha Care, was included among the finalists of Ageing Australia’s 2025 You are ACE! Awards, highlighting his invaluable contribution and the joy he brings to seniors.
Giannicopoulos, who runs the Cafe (social gathering space) at the Templestowe nursing home, has provided consistent support to the elderly in our community, both within the Fronditha Care facilities and through home visits.
When asked what motivates him to dedicate his time to Fronditha Care and our seniors, his answer is always the same, he loves giving to people.
Spiteri described it as “an honour” to be included as a finalist in the Leadership category, emphasizing that this recognition reflects the collective efforts and dedication of the entire Fronditha Care team.
“It is a privilege to lead Fronditha Care and continue to build on the legacy of our founders,” she said.
“The organization is constantly evolving, offering support to more seniors than ever before and laying a strong foundation for the future, and I am delighted that the work of my team and all of our people is being recognised.”
The CEO of Fronditha Care said she is looking forward to the announcement of the winners of Ageing Australia’s 2025 You are ACE! Awards, which will take place at the awards ceremony on 7 August 7 (also Aged Care Employee Day).
With more than 500 nominations from across Australia, the 52 finalists for 2025 highlight the important work and commitment of those working every day to improve the lives of older people.
