Greece has announced its 19-man preliminary squad for the upcoming EuroBasket 2025 campaign, with NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and veteran Kostas Sloukas leading the charge.
Head coach Vassilis Spanoulis revealed the selection ahead of the team’s preparation for the first phase of the tournament, set to take place in Cyprus. The Greek national team is aiming to progress to the final rounds of the competition, which will be held in Riga, Latvia.
Training begins on Monday, July 28, with Greece’s first friendly scheduled for August 6 against Belgium.
The 19-man squad features a strong mix of seasoned players and emerging talent. In addition to Giannis Antetokounmpo, the roster includes Kostas Papanikolaou, Kostas Sloukas, Giannoulis Larentzakis, Dinos Mitoglou, Panagiotis Kalaitzakis, Dimitris Katsivelis, and Giannis’ brother, Kostas Antetokounmpo.
Other players named in the squad are Vassilis Toliopoulos, Tyler Dorsey, Nikos Chougkaz, Vaggelis Zougris, Neoklis Avdalas, Omiros Netzipoglou, Antonis Karagiannidis, Alexandros Nikolaidis, Alexandros Samontourov, Lefteris Liotopoulos, and Nasos Bazinas.
As the team sets its sights on a deep tournament run, all eyes will be on the return of Giannis Antetokounmpo, whose presence signals serious intent from the Greek side.
